Indian Super League

Probity Sports India have deployed a team of former Indian police officers, headed and supervised by Mr. B.B. Mishra (the Head Integrity Officer), to perform the in-stadia integrity and security services for the 2018-19 Indian Super League (ISL).

We provided comprehensive integrity training to each Integrity Officer prior to the beginning of the season. Each integrity officer then provided ongoing education to the teams’ both before and during the ISL.

An Integrity Officer has been present at each match of the current ISL season. The Integrity Officers have coordinated with the team managers, local security and Police officers at the stadia to determine whether they suspect any suspicious behaviour from any of the participants or people attending the matches in the stadium. The Integrity Officers also receive integrity-related information from third-party service providers to the ISL.

They monitor the match area to detect any suspicious behaviour and report the same to the Secretary/appropriate person of the ISL, as well as provide a copy of the same to the Integrity Officer at the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the national governing body for football in the country.

In total so far, we have recovered over 60 devices which include laptops, tablets, iPads, mobile phones and smart watches, from person(s) in-and-around the match area, where the same is prohibited.  We were informed that in the previous year, only 3-4 devices were recovered in the entire season of ISL.

Our work in this respect led to the first fine of its kind in Indian sport, with the ISL fining FC Goa two fines: one of rupees three lakhs and another of rupees four and a half lakhs. This successful preventative and disruptive action was covered by the Times of India.

Mr. BB Mishra as the Head Integrity Officer and receives the match day report prepared by the Integrity Officer. A copy of the report template is included as Appendix IV. The match report is also sent to the SPoC of the Indian Super League within 24 hours of completion of a match.
